An Exploration of Greek History

Kick off summer of 2024 with a tour of Greece’s Ionian Islands. We’ll begin the trip with a stop in Athens to visit the Acropolis and its incredible museum. We’ll then head to the west coast to begin our private chartered cruise down the coast—visiting some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and bays. We’ll conclude the trip by spending a few days in Evia, Greece where we will partake in cooking classes, fishing, as well as beer and cheese tasting.

We’ll begin and end in Athens—home of the Acropolis, one of the ancient world’s most magnificent sites, and the renowned National Archaeological Museum. In between, we’ll cruise the Ionian Sea—with stops in Parga, Meganisi, Lefkada, Paxoi, and more. This adventure offers a mixture of history, art, music, and food, so you will experience firsthand all that Greece, one of the jewels of the ancient world, has to offer those who choose to visit.

Meet Our Guide

Mara Kanari

Mara Kanari was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She graduated from Athens College and went on to Greek National guide School, in Corfu. While guiding, she received her second degree in Humanities and Studies in Greek Civilization from The Hellenic Open University. 


Mara has been leading groups in Greek, English, and Japanese—with an emphasis on the Ancient Greek civilization and mythology. Since 2001 she has taken tourists from over 60 countries to both the mainland and the islands of Greece, sharing with them her knowledge of history, archaeology, good food, better wine, and folklore dancing. Her future plans include finally learning how to cook and  completing her first novel titled ‘Misguided.’
